KINTSUGI CLASSES

Guided practice of the art of kintsugi, to acquire the skills necessary to repair your own wares. 

Over tea and tea sweets, we will dive into the Japanese "table", and the historical, cultural, and environmental context behind kintsugi-repair. Participants receive step-by-step support and tailored advice on how to repair each of their unique wares based on their personal aesthetic sensibilities and the look and feel of their home. It will take 8 sessions to repair wares. Sessions can be scheduled, at minimum, in one week intervals to ensure that each layer of urushi can harden before moving on to the next step of repair.

THE REHEARSAL

This one-off workshop is for those who don't have much time but would like to learn about kintsugi and its place in Japanese culture and take home a "repaired" ware.

THE SCENE

¥14,000 / 2-hour session

The option for those who want to try the initial step of kintsugi-repair without yet committing to a series of classes. What to do after this session? You may upgrade to the other plans, request a professional to complete the repair, or purchase a Kintsugi Kit to complete the repair at home.
